Road Angel supports a local road safety day
Road Angel Group, manufacturers of the renowned Gem+ and market experts in speed management, driver safety and vehicle security products, was on-hand last week to support the Bursledon Infant School’s Road Safety Day on Friday 18 July.
Run in conjunction with the Hampshire police and road safety charity Brake and Zak the Zebra, the day was geared around educating the school’s Year 2 pupils how to remain safe on the roads, teach them the dos and don’ts of road safety, as well as providing fun activities to help their learning, including games and a road safety poster competition.
With the help of Zak the Zebra, pupils were given an assembly and asked questions about road safety, before playing Snakes and Hazards, moving forward with correct answers. Further classroom lessons with ‘Zak the Zebra and a road safety poster competition followed, before a presentation by the Hampshire police.
After an afternoon of other activities and the chance to sit in one of the force’s police cars, a final assembly was hosted to pick the winner of the competitions and recap on the day’s messages.
Road Angel Group’s General Manager, Sue Hitchmough said, “We’re delighted to have been able to support such a fantastic initiative and do our bit to further help educate the pupils on the needs and ways to remain safe on the roads. It was great to see the children so enthusiastic about the day and there were a great range of activities organised to keep the day fun and interesting while making sure it was informative and educational too.”
